Police in Vaalwater, under the Waterberg District, have opened a murder investigation following the death of a 41-year-old man after an alleged fight at a tavern in Extension 2 during the early hours of Sunday, 17 May 2026.
According to preliminary information, a fight broke out inside the tavern and later continued outside the premises. During the altercation, several individuals were reportedly assaulted with stones and bottles.
The 41-year-old victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local clinic, where he later died. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear and are part of ongoing police investigations.
