A crime-combating operation by SAPS Public Order Policing (POP) unit members in Mitchells Plain led to the confiscation of narcotics and an arrest in the early hours of Wednesday, 27 May 2026.
Around 01:00, while conducting a stop-and-search operation in the area, officers received intelligence about drugs being sold at a specific residence in Silvermyn Street, Tafelsig. Members swiftly acted on the information and proceeded to the identified location.
A search of the suspect’s house resulted in the recovery of 20 units of heroin, 145 tik sachets, and 200 mandrax tablets.
A 30-year-old male suspect was apprehended for possession of drugs. He will soon appear before the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court.
