The country’s top padel players will compete for the first official national titles in the sport’s history, across two weekends at Padel 365‘s Century City and Richmond Park club locations in Cape Town.
Padel 365 will host The Growthpoint SA Nationals Padel Championships 2026 this October – the first-ever National Padel championships to be held in South Africa. Players will compete across two weekends at Century City and Richmond Park for a total prize pool of R125 000.
Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in South Africa, and across the globe, drawing a new generation of players into a fast-paced, social, and highly spectator-friendly game. The Growthpoint SA Nationals 2026 marks a milestone for the sport locally, as the first time the country has crowned official national champions.

“Padel has exploded in South Africa over the past four years. We already have a well-established national tour, overseen by the South African Padel Association, with major tournaments taking place across the country and increasing support from corporate South Africa. For me, one of the important steps in giving any sport real credibility is having an official National Championship. It gives players across every age group the opportunity to proudly call themselves a South African National Champion, and for our elite players in particular, that title can carry real significance as they look to turn professional, attract sponsorship and compete internationally.

To be able to establish the SA Nationals while padel is still such a young sport in this country is incredibly exciting, and the support of Growthpoint Properties and our other blue chip sponsors shows just how far the sport has already come. We look forward to welcoming the best of the best to Cape Town this October.
From next year, our intention is to introduce regional qualifying events around the country, reducing the amount of travel required for players while creating a clear pathway towards qualification for the SA Nationals finals, which will once again be hosted in Cape Town.” said Paul Atkinson, Co-owner of Padel 365.
