BOKSBURG, Gauteng — In a significant development regarding the Ekurhuleni murders, the South African Police Service (SAPS) has announced a major Dawn Park murder breakthrough with the arrest of three suspects. The apprehensions mark a critical turning point in the investigation into the killing of a woman in Villa Lisa township, near Dawn Park in Boksburg, East Rand.
The three suspects, comprising one man and two women, were taken into custody over the weekend by members of the murder and robbery unit. They are scheduled to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, where further details regarding the case are expected to be formally ventilated.
This arrest is directly linked to the ninth woman killed in a disturbing series of murders that has plagued the area since July of this year. Addressing the recent breakthrough, the Acting National Commissioner of SAPS, Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane, affirmed that law enforcement remains fully seized with all nine murder cases, ensuring each receives priority attention and dedicated resources.
“We remain committed to ensuring that these investigations are pursued with the urgency and determination they require,” Lieutenant General Dimpane stated.
