On 19 December 2025, a 49-year-old building caretaker was arrested in Yeoville for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
The arrest followed a crime intelligence-driven operation by the Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Tracing team and the Anti-Gang Unit. Officers searched a building on George Street and recovered two pistols, one rifle, one hunting rifle, and ammunition.
