Police Arrest Suspect, Recover Explosives

KwaZulu-Natal police arrested a suspected cash-in-transit robber and recovered explosives in Inanda just after midnight on Saturday, 31 January 2026.

Members of the Inanda Trio Task Team were patrolling near Ithendele Road and the M25 Curnick Ndlovu Highway when they noticed a parked white VW Polo.

Police searched the vehicle and found explosives with detonators concealed in a backpack in the boot.

The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in the Ntuzuma Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 2 February 2026.
