MIDRAND – An aircraft crash in Midrand on Tuesday afternoon resulted in the medical treatment of two individuals after their plane crash-landed on the R101 in the vicinity of New Road. The incident, which narrowly missed a pedestrian on the ground, prompted a swift and coordinated multi-agency emergency response.
At approximately 15:00, the CERT Centurion crew responded to reports of the aviation incident. Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered that a passing bystander had already bravely assisted in extracting both occupants from the aircraft. This immediate civilian intervention ensured the patients received prompt medical attention prior to the arrival of formal emergency services.
According to an official statement from CERT Centurion representatives, both patients were assessed and treated at the scene. One individual sustained moderate injuries, while the second suffered minor injuries. Both patients were subsequently transported by Netcare 911 for further medical care.
